Fall O-Higan Service (in-person only)
September 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The O-Higan period, the time around the autumn or spring equinox is a fortuitous time to deepen your practice. Note that we are meeting on the 4th Saturday instead of the Second Saturday this month so we can celebrate the O-Higan together.
This is an opportunity to practice in person with our sangha. The daily service and meditation is an opportunity to engage the body, speech, and mind in practices that foster awakening. The service is open to those with all levels of experience with Buddhism, whether you’ve been practicing for years or are just curious to learn more.
Here’s the flow of the morning:
9:00-9:20 Greetings and background and purpose of the O-Higan period.
9:20-9:40 O-Higan Chanting Service
9:40-10:35 Two full periods of seated meditation with a brief standing meditation
10:35-10:50 Brief dharma talk and concluding services
10:50-11:30 Fall Potluck
